“With splendid campuses and a warm residential feeling, living at Smith Crossing or Smith Village can brighten anyone’s day,” says Judy Lewis, a retired executive who worked in the senior living field more than 15 years. Four of those years, she was a lead administrative accreditation surveyor for CARF-CCAC Commission, a Washington, DC-based, organization that recognizes exceptional CCRCs, now Life Plan Communities across the country.
The Orland Park resident notes Smith Crossing, opened in 2004, has been CARF-accredited since 2008. “It is a very good neighbor and corporate citizen whose impact on our community has exceeded all expectations,” she states.
“As the first, and still only, continuing care retirement community in the southwest suburbs, Smith Crossing has educated older adults and their families about the benefits of choosing a CCRC as a way for planning a rewarding, secure future,” Lewis adds.
“It is encouraging to see our field explore new ways to anticipate the needs of new generations of older adults. We at Smith are committed to designing more ways to understand and fulfill the expectations of Baby Boomers.”
